With the Oral B Plaque remover: Only 1.2% of a population performed worse than they did with a maual brush, 14.3 % showed no change and 84.5% showed marked improvement.

In a study that tested changes in the clinical parameters of gum disease such as bleeding from gums and loss of gum attachment. The manual tooth brush group showed no change while the powered toothbrush group were significantly improved.

The Sonicare produced results removing nearly 95% of interproximal plaque which was 5 times as much as a manual toothbrush. This is because the Sonicare operates with 31,000 brush strokes per minute and thus the ultrasonic energy destroys plaque bacteria.
